50 STANDARDS OF CONDUCT - Discipline
Living Springs Academy standards are in harmony with the principles accepted by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, as set forth in the Bible. It is expected that all students’ moral habits and attitudes shall be in harmony with these standards and principles of Christian education.
The basic purpose of discipline is the training of the student for self-government. True discipline should result in mutual trust between student and teacher. It is designed to be redemptive, remedial, and corrective rather than punitive.
All Staff Members share in the responsibility for supervision of student conduct; minor irregularities are handled by individual staff members. The Principal will handle repeated offenses or major infractions of school rules. Parents are expected to cooperate in the corrective process with the understanding that the learning process will be interrupted as little as possible. Ideally, the attitude of what is best for the student and the school should be evident in every act of discipline.
